The bar lounge links to the main hall via 2 pairs of double doors.  This means we have an ideal venue for all sorts of social functions.  These range from quiz nights allowing seating for up to 100 people, to full blown parties complete with disco.  We always have a pre-Christmas party on the last Friday before Christmas and most years have a New Years Eve function as well.

 

Our main social event of the year is the dinner dance held in November.  This is also the presentation ball where all winners and runners-up are presented with their trophies.  This is an opportunity for everyone to dress up and dinner suits and ball gowns are in profusion.  This is held at a variety of venues and for 2008 we are scheduled to be at the Masonic Hall in Shenfield.  Tickets for this event sell out very quickly and numbers are limited to 140.

The club offers great facilities for social events of all types.  We have a lovely bar lounge which is both welcoming and spacious with a large pool table, mood lighting and flexible arrangements for the tables and chairs. The bar is open every Tuesday and Friday evening and Sunday lunchtime throughout the year as well as most weekday evenings during the summer months.  Regular events are held on Friday evenings for smaller numbers of members and these range from pool, darts and table tennis competitions, to games nights and even impromptu karaoke nights.  We have a gas fired barbeque which is used occasionally on Fridays (weather and volunteer chef permitting) and the bar staff often provide toasted sandwiches and the like.
